When you write to us
Your name, email address, phone number, what you're considering, and anything you choose to tell us. It is emailed to us and stored in our mailbox. We use it to reply to you and to plan your visit, and for nothing else.
We collect as little as we need, we keep it safe, and we never sell it. This page explains what we hold, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Skin Science Aesthetics (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as that term is used in South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
We don't run accounts, we don't take payment online, and we don't buy contact lists. Everything we hold comes from one of the three routes below.
Your name, email address, phone number, what you're considering, and anything you choose to tell us. It is emailed to us and stored in our mailbox. We use it to reply to you and to plan your visit, and for nothing else.
Your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, and the content of your messages. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own privacy terms apply to the conversation as well as ours.
On our advertising landing pages only, and only if you accept, Meta sets a cookie so we can see which of our adverts brought people to us. You can decline, and nothing loads.
If you become a client, we keep a clinical record: your consultation notes, skin history, relevant medical history, consent forms and the treatments you've had. Health information is special personal information under POPIA, and we treat it accordingly.
Those records live in our scheduling and client-management system, are accessible only to your practitioner, and are never used for marketing. They are kept for as long as professional practice requires, and then securely destroyed.
This website does not collect any health information. Please don't send clinical detail through the enquiry form – bring it to your consultation instead.
Most of this website sets no cookies at all. Advertising cookies appear only on the landing pages we run adverts to, and only after you accept them.
When you accept or decline on one of our landing pages, we record that choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again. It contains nothing but the word "granted" or "denied", it never leaves your device, and it is not used to identify you.
If you accept, we load Meta's advertising tag. It sets cookies (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from an advert) and tells Meta that a page was viewed, that a WhatsApp link was clicked, or that an enquiry form was sent. We do not send Meta your name, your email address, your phone number, or the treatment you were reading about.
Meta uses this to measure our adverts and to help us reach people with similar interests. Meta's own privacy policy governs what it does with the data once it arrives.
Nothing. There is no analytics platform, no session recording, no heat-mapping and no advertising from any other network on this site. The Google Maps embed on our visit and landing pages is served by Google and is subject to Google's terms.
We share personal information only with the services we need to run the practice: our email and website hosting provider, our scheduling and client-management platform, and – if you have accepted advertising cookies – Meta.
We do not sell personal information, we do not trade it, and we do not pass it to any other clinic or practitioner. Where a service provider processes information on our behalf, they are bound to use it only for that purpose.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where that happens, POPIA requires comparable protection, and we rely on the provider's contractual commitments to that effect.
Enquiries that don't become bookings are kept for up to two years, so we recognise you if you come back, and then deleted.
Clinical records are kept for as long as professional practice and South African law require.
Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it above. Meta's own retention of advertising data is governed by Meta.
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy; to correct anything that is wrong or out of date; to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep; to stop using your information for marketing; and to withdraw a consent you have given, at any time.
Write to info@skinscienceaesthetics.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for a straightforward request.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Questions about any of this?
Ask us. We would rather explain it plainly than leave you guessing – write to info@skinscienceaesthetics.co.za or send us a message.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged the next time you are asked for a cookie choice.
