What it is

The Jessner peel, refined.

Jessner PRO is Mesoestetic's modern reading of one of the most respected peels in skincare. The classic Jessner – a layered blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol – has been used by dermatologists for decades for pigmentation, texture and sun-aged skin. The PRO formulation keeps the architecture and softens the edges.

It works at a medium depth, lifting dulling layers and prompting renewal underneath. The chemistry is precise, the experience is calm – most clients describe a warm tingle rather than the sharper sting of older Jessner formulations.

It's a versatile peel – particularly well suited to skin that holds onto pigmentation, looks weathered, or has begun to show the quiet evidence of sun exposure over years.

What it's for

Where Jessner PRO earns its place.

This is a resurfacing peel for skin that has accumulated something – pigmentation, sun-damage, texture, congestion. It addresses several concerns at once, calmly.

01

Pigmentation & uneven tone

Sun-related pigmentation, freckling, post-inflammatory marks, the patchy unevenness of mature skin. Jessner PRO lifts and evens.

02

Photo-aged, weathered skin

Sun-tired skin with a dull surface, accumulated texture, and the slow loss of clarity that comes with years outdoors.

03

Texture & congestion

Rough surface, enlarged pores, mild congestion alongside pigmentation. The salicylic component lifts and clears.

What to expect

A focused, layered session.

Jessner PRO is delivered in careful layers. The flow is unhurried and explained as we go.

01

The consultation

We assess the skin – pigmentation pattern, sun history, texture, sensitivity – and decide on layer count. Jessner PRO is built around the principle of controlled accumulation: more layers, more depth.

02

The treatment

Cleanse, prep, and a series of measured layered passes. Most clients describe a warm, building tingle that settles between layers.

03

The aftercare

Light to moderate flaking is part of the renewal – typically days three through five. Simple home protocol: gentle cleanser, no actives, generous SPF. Most clients are presentable throughout.

Frequency & rhythm

A steady rhythm, then a quieter one.

Treatments are spaced two to four weeks apart, depending on the concern and how the skin responds.

Once the skin has reset, maintenance is often every eight to twelve weeks – particularly through the brighter seasons, when sun-related pigmentation tends to return.

Jessner PRO pairs well with Melanostop Tran3x for pigment-led concerns, and with our LED Light Therapy as a calming finish on the same visit.

Suitability

Peel work is careful work – and we plan accordingly.

Jessner PRO suits most skin types but it asks for a considered plan – particularly for deeper Fitzpatrick skin tones, recent sun exposure, pregnancy or active prescription topicals. We assess at the consultation and will always offer a different starting point if Jessner PRO isn't the right answer for your skin today.

Good to know

The questions we hear most.

If something isn't covered here, ask us – the first appointment is a conversation, and no question is too small.

What is a Jessner PRO peel?

It's Mesoestetic's modern reading of the classic Jessner – a layered blend used by dermatologists for decades for pigmentation, texture and sun-aged skin. The PRO formulation keeps the architecture and softens the edges, working at a medium depth.

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe a warm tingle rather than the sharper sting of older Jessner formulations. The chemistry is precise and the experience is calm.

What's the downtime?

As a medium-depth peel it lifts the dulling surface layers, so you can expect some light flaking as the skin renews over the following days. We'll send you home with a clear protocol, including strict sun protection.

How many sessions will I need?

There's no set number – treatments are spaced two to four weeks apart, with maintenance after that as your skin asks for it.

What concerns is it best for?

Sun-related pigmentation, freckling, post-blemish marks and the patchy unevenness of mature skin. It addresses several of these at once, calmly.

What does a session cost?

A standalone Jessner PRO peel is R1,200. If we plan further sessions, we'll talk through the pricing at your consultation.
